Over the last 9 months, I've met many of Chiropractic Products' readers via e-mail or by telephone. Usually, I receive a note because an article in the publication or in our Weekly Adjustment e-newsletter strikes a chord. The writer typically feels so strongly about the subject at hand that they are compelled to share their opinions, feelings, and ideas with me—both positive and negative. I am truly grateful to receive such mail, because it allows me to better know what you are thinking and subsequently deliver content that informs you.
Personally, I understand how daunting it can be to drop a letter to the editor, or to send an e-mail to . But if the feeling is strong, and the thought invades my mind repeatedly throughout the day, I will go ahead and write down my opinions and views and send them on their merry way.
At times, my response to a story would be lighthearted and fun. Other times, I would be downright angry, upset, and motivated to let the editor know how I felt. And where would my energy be directed? Who would be the ultimate recipient? Would I receive a reply or see my letter in print? What if my letter or e-mail ended up in the trash?
I am happy to say that I reply to the letters and notes I receive. It only takes 5 minutes to respond if a story stirs something inside of you, and only 5 minutes on my end to make sure you know that I care about and value your opinion and insight. Keep the mail coming!
