NYCC Offers a Master’s Degree in Nutrition
New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) in Seneca Falls, NY, has instituted a nutritional program that will prepare experts to assist patients with their diet-related problems. The program is for working health professionals who are currently healing patients and are aiming to prevent the onset of illness. The first class will be offered in September 2006.

Founded by Shari Lieberman, PhD, CNS, the 36-credit-hour (540 hours), six-trimester program prepares graduates to practice in a wide range of clinical, consulting, and industry settings. It focuses on clinical nutrition and its application in prevention and disease management; and allows graduates to individually design intervention programs that encompass diet, exercise, nutritional supplementation (vitamins, minerals, botanicals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids) suited for private practitioners, for integrative practice with other professionals, and for consultant roles.

NYCC’s coursework is taught one weekend per month; is delivered through NYCC’s interactive video teleconferencing system located in each location: Levittown, NY (Long Island), Seneca Falls, NY, and DePew, NY (near Buffalo); and is supplemented with online computer modules.

The Chiropractic Games started in 1992 and has since become an annual tradition, ranking as one of the athletic and social highlights of the academic year for many chiropractic students. The Games features 11 sports, including men’s flag football, golf, basketball, and soccer; women’s basketball and soccer; and co-ed tennis, softball, track, volleyball, and swimming.
The games will be played at North Lakes Park and Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Tex.

FSCO President Re-elected
Judy Nutz Campanale, DC, was re-elected president of the Federation of Straight Chiropractors and Organizations (FSCO). Campanale served as FSCO president from 1999 to 2001.

“FSCO has come a long way in their modest 30 years of existence,” Campanale says. “It remains the only organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of subluxation-only practices.”

In addition to full-time practice, Campanale serves as the FSCO representative to the Chiropractic Coalition, which works on joint legislative goals. The coalition includes the FCSO, the World Chiropractic Alliance, and the International Chiropractors Association. She was honored with the FSCO Chiropractor of the Year award in 1999 and the Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic’s Chiropractor of the Year award in 2000. She was also awarded the honorary title of “Fellow” in the College of Straight Chiropractic in 2001.
