Parker
College Selects New Board Members
Parker College of Chiropractic has selected three new Board of Trustees members:
John Donovan, DC, Carroll, Iowa; Maria Fisher, MD, Arlington, Tex; and D.T. Nguyen,
Dallas.Their varied backgrounds and
expertise will greatly complement the skills of our present board members, says
Fabrizio Mancini, DC, president of Parker College of Chiropractic. Together, this
group can provide strategic leadership as Parker College begins preparations for 2007, its
25th- anniversary year.
A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Donovan is a
member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Chiropractic Knights of the Round
Table. He is also a board member of the National Institute of Chiropractic Research.
Fisher is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and
is a trainer certified through The Cooper Institute. She works with diabetic children to
decrease their dependence on insulin by incorporating diet modification and exercise. She
received her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Nebraska College of
Medicine, Omaha.
Nguyen is the founder, chairman, president, and CEO of
Xactimed, a Dallas-based firm that offers Web-based revenue-cycle solutions and
outsourcing services to the health care industry. He brings 20 years of experience to the
health care industry. |
Northwestern
Honors Victor Marty, DC
At its third annual Stars Among Us Gala on November 12, 2005, Northwestern Health
Sciences University honored the commitment of Victor Marty, DC, to the university. The
gala, which took place in downtown Minneapolis, is a fund-raiser that recognizes
university supporters. Marty graduated from
Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1950. In addition to his 42 years in private
practice, he served on many state and national boards. He was also on Northwesterns
Board of Trustees from 19551961 and from 19741990.
The gala netted more than $125,000 and attracted more than
350 supporters of the university. |
Life
West Grants 49 Degrees at Ceremony
On December 10, 2005, 49 students from across the nation and overseas were
awarded doctor of chiropractic degrees during Life Chiropractic College Wests 47th
commencement ceremony. The event celebrated the graduating classes of summer 2005 and fall
2005.Academic honors in the summer 2005 class
went to valedictorian Kristin Beratta of Antioch, Calif; and in the fall 2005 class to
valedictorian Paige Van Slooten from Pleasanton, Calif. The salutatorian honors were
awarded to Aaron Casselman from Chandler, Ariz (summer 2005 class) and Michelle Wendling
from Fort Collins, Colo (fall 2005 class).
The Clinical Excellence Citation, which is the highest
accolade given by the colleges Health Center, was awarded to Patricia Spelman of San
Diego for her patient care at the Life West Public Health Center (summer 2005) and to
Slooten (fall 2005).
Life Wests graduates represented 10 US states as well
as Canada, Germany, Thailand, Italy, and Korea. |
