| Foot Levelers Matching Fund Helps Katrina Victims Chiropractors donated $540,701.93 to the American Red Cross through Foot Levelers emergency matching fund to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. I just knew the chiropractic community would join together to help their fellow Americans, says Kent S. Greenawalt, Foot Levelers president and CEO. Weve been working with the profession long enough to know how deeply chiropractors care for humanity, healing, and wholeness. The initial goal of the fund was to raise a total of $500,000 on behalf of the Red Cross. Within minutes of the campaigns announcement, generous amounts of donations started to pour in. At first, the contributions came in from individual chiropractors, says Greenawalt. As the word got out, both individuals and groups in the chiropractic community organized similar matching-fund campaignsthey challenged the people around them, and they respondedso that every dollar was doubly matched. We received checks from all over the United States, Canada, and Japan. | | Northwestern Hires Chiropractic Dean Northwestern College of Chiropractic (Bloomington, Minn) has hired Michael R. Wiles, DC, MEd, as its dean. Wiles replaces Rob Scott, DC, who resigned his position in April 2005. Michael R. Wiles, DC, MEd Wiles hopes to encourage Northwesterns faculty and students to adopt the Universitys mission statementto advance and promote natural approaches to health through education, research, clinical services, and community involvementas their own philosophies. A lot of organizations tend to pay lip service to their mission statements, but I dont see that happening at Northwestern, says Wiles. But I do see it as my responsibility to make the mission seem real to faculty and students. Faculty members dont just show up and teach; they are building a foundation for students. I want to encourage that. Wiles is a 1976 graduate of Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Toronto. He also holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Toronto and a masters degree in education from Brock University, in St Catharines, Ontario. | Wellness Works Program Awards Scholarships Silvia Clark Joshua Mason
