Scott Collins, vice president of sales and marketing, The Saunders Group, Chaska, Minn

Scott CollinsScott Collins, vice president of sales and marketing, The Saunders Group, Chaska, Minn, talks to Chiropractic Products about the products it offers to chiropractors.

What trends do you see in the areas of traction/decompression tables?

We are seeing more doctors choosing traction/decompression to treat their most difficult patients that might otherwise go to surgery. Decompression tables also reduce the physical stress on the doctor compared to other manual therapy techniques, and allow smaller clinicians or clinicians who have physical limitations to successfully treat their patients. We are seeing a dramatic increase in the use of traction/decompression therapy among chiropractors mainly because it is extremely effective. It also enhances clinic income.

What does the 3D ActiveTrac system offer that makes it stand out among your competitors?

One key feature is three-dimensional adjustability. This feature allows the doctor to treat severe conditions that cannot be successfully treated with straight pull tables. It is also important that the doctor has the ability to chose between the prone and supine position. The Saunders 3D ActiveTrac offers the ultimate choice in adjustability.

Another key feature doctors should look for is cervical spine decompression capability. Many traction/decompression tables only provide lumbar decompression. Adverse conditions of the cervical spine have been proven to respond favorably to decompression therapy as well.

Cost should be a major consideration when choosing a traction/decompression table. Table prices vary widely despite the fact that feature packages are similar.

What other rehabilitation products does The Saunders Group offer to chiropractors?

The Saunders Group offers a comprehensive line of rehabilitation products, including clinical and home traction/decompression products, exercise equipment, orthopedic support products, and patient-education materials. In fact, we package the 3D ActiveTrac with several key exercise, support, and educational products in the Saunders Spine Care System. A full day of on-site training is included with this package as well. For more information on the Saunders Spine Care System, go to www.back-pain-treatment.net. What type of training do you provide for chiropractors to get the best use of your product?

Our 3D ActiveTrac customers are provided comprehensive instructions via written and video formats. We’ve recently developed an excellent DVD presentation that teaches clinicians advanced traction/decompression techniques. We also offer on-site training.
