SCUHS and NUHS Presents Low Back Seminar Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) and National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) offered the 2004 Symposium on Neurological and Other Causes of Low Back Pain, November 2021, 2004, in Las Vegas. The 15-hour CEU seminar offered the 120-plus attendees classes in differential diagnostic and therapeutic considerations for the 21st century, including biomechanical, orthopedic, neurologic, and radiologic perspectives of low back pain. Speakers included: James M. Cox, DC, DACBR, invented the Cox Distraction Manipulation technique, is a second-generation chiropractor, and practices with his son in Fort Wayne, Ind. He has also written a textbook, Low Back Pain: Mechanics, Diagnosis, and Treatment. Coxs topic was titled, Mechanics, Diagnosis, and Axial Decompression Treatment of Low Back Pain. Rand Swenson, DC, MD, PhD, is a second-generation chiropractor and the associate professor of medicine (neurology) and anatomy and acting chairman of anatomy at Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH. He brought a unique perspective to his seminar titled, Neurological Evaluation of the Patient With Lower Back Pain. Yochum, DC, DACBR, Fellow ACCR, is the adjunct professor of radiology for the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Whittier, Calif, and an instructor in skeletal radiology for the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver. He is also the director of Rocky Mountain Chiropractic Radiological Center, Denver, and coauthor of the textbook, Essentials of Skeletal Radiology.
