Customer service and support should be an important part of purchasing equipment and supplies. What should chiropractors expect from their suppliers? Chiropractic Products asked Dave Shultz, president and cofounder of Hessco, Saukville, Wis, which has been supplying products and services to the chiropractic profession for more than 40 years, about this aspect of the company.
What services and support can chiropractors expect from Hessco?
All of our employees at our 11 locations are factory-trained to solve doctors problems and willing to go the extra mile to keep customers happy. DCs are close to reliable information and quality parts.
We do everything from replacing loose bolts to reupholstering tables. All services performed by our service personnel are unconditionally guaranteed. However, if doctors would rather do the repairs themselves, we will be happy to sell the parts (used or rebuilt) and furnish the know-howfree of charge, of courseto help doctors do it.
Tell us about your reconditioned-equipment department.
Hessco is the worlds largest supplier of reconditioned chiropractic tables. We sell more reconditioned tables than all other dealers combined. Chiropractors can save money and still get a great table with a great warranty. Also, we can help move unused equipment. We will determine if we can purchase the equipment outright or take it on consignment.
What is the history of Hessco?
My father, Richard Schultz, has been working with the chiropractic profession since 1962. Hessco was started in 1982 by Richard, Mike Peterson, and me. We have grown to become the largest table dealer for Lloyd, Leander, Zenith, and Chattanooga. We wanted to offer exceptional service, such as help before purchasing, so that doctors can make the right choices and help after buying so that the equipment chosen continues to serve its purpose. Our 11 offices mean that there is someone close to you who will deliver, set up, and maintain what you buy. Doctors may not always need this service, but I think that many will find it invaluable when it is required.
Tell us about Hesscos commitment to the chiropractic profession.
While several chiropractic supply houses have been purchased by medical companies, Hessco remains a family-owned chiropractic company. We have always stepped to the plate and supported national and state organizations.
What do you see for the future of chiropractic?
I feel that chiropractic has a very bright future, because it works! There will be problems along the way, but we are so confident in the future of chiropractic, we just opened a new location in Texas to better serve our customers. CP
