Parker Seminar Recap

Chiropractic Legends Honored

In recognition of long-standing excellence in chiropractic, Foot Levelers Inc, Roanoke, Va, awarded its third annual achievement awards at the Parker Seminars in Las Vegas. “These awards are a once-in-a-lifetime recognition of outstanding contribution and dedication to different aspects of the chiropractic profession,” said president and CEO Kent S. Greenawalt, who handed out the four awards, “and the recipients of these awards have dedicated years of service to chiropractic.”

The Golden Achievement Award for Chiropractic Commitment was awarded to Vickie Anne Palmer in recognition of her relentless pursuit of chiropractic excellence and her proven leadership abilities. Palmer is the chairperson of the Palmer University Board of Trustees.

The Golden Achievement Award for Clinical Excellence was awarded to Arlan Fuhr, DC, the cofounder of the Activator Method adjusting technique and president of Activator Methods Inc. He has worked for 40 years teaching and helping thousands of patients worldwide.

Donald K. Kase and Frank A. Corbo, DC, were awarded the Golden Achievement Award for the Advancement of Chiropractic through Publishing Excellence. Kase is the editor-in-chief and Corbo the senior editor of Chiropractic Wellness & Fitness Magazine, a healthy lifestyle publication for chiropractic patients.

The Dr Monte Greenawalt Chiropractic Excellence Award was given to Carl Cleveland III, DC, who has served the chiropractic profession for many years. Cleveland is the president of Cleveland Chiropractic Colleges.

“These awards are 24K plated–and although they are valuable, the people who received them are priceless,” Greenawalt said of the award recipients.

 Jerry Lewis Receives Humanitarian Award
Jerry Lewis has dedicated 50 years to leading the fight against muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases. As National Chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), he has raised awareness and more than $900 million through the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. Parker Seminars honored his outstanding humanitarian efforts at a special ceremony during Parker Seminars in Las Vegas.

“Jerry Lewis is an exceptional example of the power of philanthropic works,” said Fabrizio Mancini, DC, president of Parker College of Chiropractic, Dallas. “He is a hero to many, and we are honored that he accepted the Crystal Backbone of Humanitarian Endeavors award.”

The money raised by the MDA Telethon has funded genetic research, more than 230 hospitals, and many services for those with neuromuscular disorders, including medical care, updated information, and summer camps for youth afflicted with these diseases.

Greenawalts Commended for Contributions

Chiropractors at Parker Seminars in Las Vegas found inspiration in two individuals who have showed long-term commitment in the field. Monte H. Greenawalt, DC, founder of Foot Levelers Inc, Roanoke, Va, and Kent S. Greenawalt, Foot Levelers’ president and CEO, were both recipients of two prestigious awards that reflected their support of the chiropractic profession.

Dr Greenawalt received the 2004 Performance Health Humanitarian award, presented by vice president of marketing Perry Isenberg of Performance Health. “Dr Greenawalt’s leadership in and long-term support of the chiropractic profession is an inspiration for everyone,” Isenberg said. “This award is to thank him for paving the way for the rest of us to show our commitment to chiropractic.”

Fabrizio Mancini, DC, president of Parker College of Chiropractic and Parker Seminars, Dallas, presented Kent Greenawalt with the Parker Lifetime Philanthropy award. “To receive an award like this is such an honor,” said Greenawalt, “but it really goes to those who have given their time and commitment in helping me to carry out these endeavors. To make these things happen, it takes people in the chiropractic profession joining together in a common cause to turn life-improving ideas into reality.”
