Makeover: CP Edition

SeoMy favorite television programs are home redesign or makeover shows, such as “Trading Spaces,” “Changing Places,” “House Invaders,” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” I enjoy these programs immensely because they are about aesthetics and function. The redesigns take into account the everyday, mundane aspects of people’s lives and makes those aspects convenient, simple, and attractive.

When thinking about the redesign for Chiropractic Products, art director Roy Boncato and I tried to keep convenience and simplicity in mind.

We went back to the beginning to see what worked and did not work in the past issues. The most effective change from previous issues was grouping the different sections—feature stories, business and management department, new products pages, and the columnists. Also of importance was adding the PracticeSense, Nutrition Niche, Legislative Watch, and Roundtable columns.

A change that many readers enjoy is the Back Page, which was essential to capture the camaraderie of the chiropractic community. I try to include light news items about various awards, recognitions, and promotions.

These subtle changes were introduced over the past year without much fanfare, but deserve mention with the rest of the redesign.

I plan to include more first-person guest editorials during the year. It is my hope that more of you will share your unique experiences and important contributions to the profession.

As you thumb through the magazine, you may notice the design changes such as an easier-to-read typeface and an updated look that is inviting and reader-friendly.

I would be remiss if I did not say a word about our art director. Roy has contributed to a redesign that is explicative and inviting, one that imbues meaning to the articles and eases access to the content.

One thing that we did not change was the perennial reader favorite, the Practice Profile section. We will continue to bring you in-depth interviews and original photographs of your accomplished colleagues. We could find no better way to embody our mission to meet the needs of you, our readers. CP
