Life West Students Win Scholarships
Sophomore Tina Carrari and senior Heidi Grant, of Life Chiropractic College West, Hayward, Calif, both received the National Datatel Scholarship Fund Award.
Tina Carrari, a sophomore at Life West, was awarded the Datatel Scholarship and the Michael Beddoe Memorial Scholarship.
The Datatel Scholarship Fund Award is a $1,300 scholarship given to students after reviewing personal achievements, a personal statement essay reflecting the importance of the scholarship, grade-point average, and two letters of recommendation.
I am excited and flattered to be selected for this scholarship, said Grant, a second-time recipient of the Datatel award.
Carrari also earned the Michael Beddoe Memorial Scholarship, which is a $500 quarterly scholarship that was created in honor of Beddoe, a graduate of Life West.
I was very honored to receive the Michael Beddoe award, an in-house memorial scholarship, said Carrari.
Carrari, who is active with a number of school and community activities, is president of Life Wests Motion Palpation Club and director of the Community Outreach Club. In addition, she is a work-study student for the colleges research department and anatomy department.
Theres a lot of money out there for scholarships, said Carrari. However, students often dont invest the time or dont think they have the qualifications to meet the criteria for scholarships, but I would encourage all students to apply.
