The Price is RightDear Ms Miwon: I read with interest your [December 2002 Editors Message] The Price is Right and am in a position in my office to do much the same type of fee arrangement [donation-based] as Dr. Shafer. Do you have any idea as to how I could get a hold of him? Thank you for your kind attention. James A. Eckert, DC via email I just read your article about the doctor who put up a box for donations. I just wanted to let you know I found it inspiringreminding me about my passion for healing. I had been caught up in desiring money more so than I would like! Thanks, Scott Krause, Acupuncturist, LMT New York I read your thoughts in the December 2002 Chiropractic Products issue. I am very interested in the concept and would ask if you could email me back the contact info. I have a smaller, rural practice and have been thinking of going the Box route but never did. Doc:
I found your article in Chiropractic Products to be very informative and stimulating. You have inspired me to reach out to my community businesses to offer to them health and wellness in the working environment.
I have been working on strategies to access more people in need of chiropractic care and expertise.
Thanks again,

Dr Margolies:
I read your article on approaching the business community with ergonomics issues with great interest. I am a new graduate of National College of Chiropractic and new in practice. I was looking for ways of approaching the business community with ergonomics programs, but could not find pertinent information.
Your article gave me very good ideas; especially what to say and who to contact. I thank you for your time and attention.

Take the Hype Out of HIPAA
Dear Ms Soyring:
I read your article in the January 2003 Chiropractic Products and loved it. It was to the point, and the best part for me was that the privacy issues were outlined in simplistic termssomething that is rare with HIPAA indeed!
I was wondering if you have any recommended websites or manual(s) that you could suggest that has samples of some of these forms that are going to need to be put in place. It sounds like many of them have legal jargon in which I have little experience and yet our office needs to be conscientous in using.
Thank you kindly in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Anita Enright, office manager

Dear Ces Soyring:
I was reading your article in Chiropractic Products magazine today. It is great to be able to read something about HIPAA and understand what it is that I am reading. I was wondering if you can recommend a site or publication that summarizes the HIPAA rules and regulations so we can make sure we are complying completely. Thank you in advance for your time and help.
In good health,

Here are three great websites: www.DC-HIPAA.com (sponsored by NCMIC); www.aspe.hhs.gov ; www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/ . Also, you can watch our website: www.naca-online.com for some of the forms. We hope to have them online by late February.
Thanks for the email. I'm glad you liked the article.
